Our visual inspection
PreventLab staff is certified as IPC specialist A-610, the key standard that regulates the visual inspection of electronic assemblies.
By operating according to the criteria of this standard it is possible to verify that the electronic assembly satisfies the requirements depending on the IPC class to which the final product belongs (1, 2 or 3)
It is an analysis that allows us to appreciate multiple characteristics, including:
The welding condition, with particular reference to the SMD and PTH joint
The condition of cleanliness, understood as the presence of residues or particulate matter
The condition of assembly and fixing of the components
The condition of the PCB after the assembly process
Any damage to the laminate or components made of materials too light to be inspected by X-ray
Compliance with the insulation requirements of the class to which it belongs
Normativa:
IPC-A-610 for checking the external characteristics of the electronic assembly from 3 to 10 times magnification

As required by the standard, the inspection begins with the naked eye, then proceeds through a viewer adjusted to the magnifications indicated for inspection and for checking for defects.
The instrument used is the Leica binocular optical microscope, model M165A
